The Money Revolution

Over the course of a year, I worked with author Alexis Visconti to design his debut non-fiction book - The Money Revolution: A Brief History of Money, and the Revolution that Created Civilization, Capitalism and our Modern World. From the beginning, we worked collaboratively to come up with a design concept for the history book. Our aim was to create an enjoyable experience for the reader as they engaged with the content and to craft something truly unique and thoughtfully considered down to the finest detail.

To do so, works from art history were included throughout both as full bleed images and as plates in key sections. Quotes and sidebars were designed to highlight supplementary information and to add visual interest. I used a combination of bold, modern typography and classic serif fonts to ensure the design felt rooted in history and tradition while still feeling modern. Custom-illustrated end pages and section icons give the design a cohesive look and feel and visually tell the story of money, wealth, and power.
